Measuring for Box Bay Window plantation shutters
We recommend you use a steel tape measure
- Your shutters are supplied with a frame, into which the shutter panels are mounted. When following this guide cut out the frame templates to help you measure correctly.
- Typically, the frames will butt up close to each other. We will supply you with a corner post which will help ensure a secure fixing.
- You can choose which frame best suits your windows. If you have no handles protruding from the window, our small or medium L frame may work. However f you have larger handles, typically found on uPVC windows you may need to use the frames in the separate measuring guide ‘Extra Large Frames’.
- When you have your frame templates, in position, on the sill, measure as indicated in the guide.
- When measuring the height, we advise you make the height the same for all windows. If there is any variation, take the average height. This ensures the shutters have similar sized top and bottom rails and equal slat numbers.
- If a mid rail is required, measure from the bottom to the point where you would like the mid point of the mid rail to be.
Remember – we are here to help. If you are in any doubt, call us or email a photo of your window to us and we can help guide you through the measuring process.
If you would like further advice on your actual window, please email a clear digital image to hello@californiashutters.co.uk .Ensure all curtains are moved away from the window and that handles and the full window is in the photo.
