Inside Mount Plantation Shutters

This information will help you successfully measure your shutters. Click any of the images you see to enlarge them.
If possible please print this shutter measuring guide in colour to help you clearly see where you should measure. We recommend downloading and printing the PDF below. You can also download our Shutter template cut outs.

Our shutters are supplied with a custom built frame. To inside mount the frame you need a recess area or a reveal on the window. If you have a recess area deep enough to accommodate our frames then you can fit your shutters as an inside mount. The information below explains which frame would be most suitable.

Use a steel tape measure

  • To get your width, measure left to right. Measure at 3 points, at the top of the window, the middle of the window and the bottom of the window, on the sill.
  • To get the height, measure from the bottom to the top. Measure at 3 points, being left, centre and right.
  • Give us the smallest width and smallest height when you measure. We will make a small deduction to ensure that your frame fits easily inside the recess.

Your plantation shutters will be supplied with their own frame. The shutter panels are then mounted inside this frame.

‘Inside Mount’ refers to shutters that are mounted inside the window reveal or recess area. Shutters that are Inside Mounted can be mounted either towards the front of the reveal or pushed tight inside, towards the window.
