It is so important to get the lighting right in your dining room for that all so important dinner party and more and more UK customers are using shutters for their window coverings .In the summer months the shutters allow as much light into your room as possible however by just slightly angling your louvres you can reatain your privacy from passers by trying to look in. In the winter months, shutters add that warm and cozy feel to your room whether your decor is traditional or contemporary.
Wood interior shutters from B & Q are made from FSC certified hardwood and you have two types of wood to choose from . For smooth painted finishes we recommend the poplar wood and for the wood stains we recommend the elm wood as this allows you to see the grain coming through the stain.
All our hardwoods are kiln dried so there is no warping or twisting, spray painted in your desired colour or wood stained then a UV protective spray is added so you do not have any damage from the sun.
Our product shown has the following features;
- 47mm louvres with a push rod
- Finished in Shell paint from our standard range
- Full height panels with a mid rail
The shutters on the picture shown are traditional plantation shutters with the push rod. Installed on a curved bay window , they bifold open to give you maximum light into the room. The louvres are the 47 mm size and you do have the option to have 64mm, 89mm or the largest which are 114mm.
Full height shutters with a mid rail are our most popular product as you have full coverage on your window however the mid rail splits the louvres so you have seperate control at the top and the bottom allowing you to adjust the light and privacy as required.
Other options are tier on tier shutters which are split panels so you can physically bifold the top panels straight back whilst leaving the bottom panels closed over. Cafe style shutters are only on the bottom half of the window for those customers that have nobody able to look through the top half and are happy to leave this window dressing free.
