Casement Window Shutters

One of the most common window types in modern and new-build homes are casement windows. You might think that shutters only work best with certain kinds of windows, but that isn’t the case. Due to their versatility, shutters can add life to any kind of window. But perhaps you still have questions. Well, that’s not a problem

Can Plantation Shutters Be Installed on Casement Windows?

One of the beauties of plantation shutters is that they can be installed on pretty much any kind of window. Casement windows are no exception. And besides being an excellent fit, they look amazing, too. We’re sure you will agree once you install your own casement shutters.

Why Choose Shutters for Your Casement Window?

Shutters can put a spring in the step of any drab window, and plantation shutters on casement windows are no different. Not only do they look fantastic, but they have other benefits, too. Besides being spoiled for choice in terms of design, they work to reduce noise, have insulation and ventilation properties, fit in with any décor, and can even increase the asking price of your home. Which Style is Best for Casement Window Shutters?

The design you choose should be catered not only to your window type, but also to the specifications of your windows. If you have a smaller window, we suggest going for our Full Height Shutters. Taller windows, however, give you a few more options. Besides Full Height, Tier-on-Tier casement shutters are a great choice. These give you separate slat control on the top and bottom sections, while the individual panels can hinge out separately as well.
Café style shutters also work wonders on those larger windows. Usually going up to the halfway point of your windows – or wherever you prefer – they grant you all the privacy of shutters, while still letting in as much light as possible. Indeed, plantation shutters on casement windows can be very versatile, so you are sure to find a style that is perfect for your windows.

Are Some Styles More Popular Than Others?

At California Shutters, we have seen it all, but there are some styles which are exceedingly popular with our customers. Vivid White and Traffic White are the most chosen colours, and Full Height are the most popular casement shutters.  Of our three different materials, our Affordable Hybrawood is the most sought after. Composed of a hardwood frame, styles, and rails, with aluminium core reinforced polyvinyl slats, they are incredibly durable. And besides being excellent value for money, they come in 13 different colours.

Are Casement Shutters Easy to Fit?

You don’t have to be a DIY expert to fit our shutters. Whether it’s on sash, bay, arched, or, indeed casement windows, measuring and fitting up is surprisingly easy. In terms of equipment, a drill, hammer, spirit level, and screwdriver are all you need. You don’t even need to drill your own holes, as our shutters all come with them pre-drilled. And to make things even easier, we provide in depth measuring and installation guides on our website.

If you aren’t a dab hand at DIY then fear not. We have a sister company that offers a bespoke measure and install service. Click here to find out more.
