How are California Shutters and B&Q partnered?

B&Q selected California Shutters as a working partner to supply custom made shutters to B&Q customers via their website partnership. California Shutters has been through a number of in-depth processes to become an approved vendor of B&Q. You can read more about our B&Q partnership here. However, all shutter-related interactions are directly with California Shutters and not with B&Q Limited.

Can I visit a B&Q store to look your window shutters?

It’s not possible to view the product in B&Q stores. By dealing directly with California Shutters we ensure that you receive expert advice and assistance from our fully trained staff. They’re the best people to help with your questions and assist with your order.

How long will my order take?

We’ll dispatch your internal shutters as soon as the goods are ready. For our current lead times, please refer to the specific product pages and our delivery information. All quoted lead times are estimates only.

How much does California Shutters' delivery cost?

All internal plantation shutters orders come with a fixed cost of £19.95 for standard delivery, dependent on order size. We deliver to the mainland UK, Northern Ireland, Scottish Islands & Highlands.

Where are the plantation shutters made?

Our Faux wood shutters are manufactured here in the UK. All our other made-to-measure shutters are manufactured in China.

What happens if I make a mistake when ordering my shutters?

This is what sets us apart from other shutter companies. Simply contact us by live chat, email, or telephone to request a free consultation with one of our advisors before you order. We welcome our customers sending us digital photos to [email protected]. This helps us get a full understanding of your window design and offer you the best advice possible.

What if my shutters are wrong, don’t fit or arrive damaged?

We do everything in our power to ensure that your shutters arrive in perfect condition and that you’ll have a hassle-free installation. In the unlikely event of transit damage, or if there is a quality issue from manufacturing, we’re happy to offer a “no quibble” free replacement. Unfortunately, there is always the slim possibility that you (the customer) read the measuring tape incorrectly, and on this occasion, you must take responsibility. As such, we advise that you double and triple-check your measurements before placing your order. Thankfully this type of issue is rare and, as always, we’re happy to work with you to find a possible solution or assist with a remake order.

What arrives with my order?

Shutter panels, your custom built frame, and all the hardware required for your installation. Check out our installation guides for shutters to see how the process works. You’ll need a spirit level, drill, and good quality steel measure tape to measure and install our shutters.

What is the guarantee period?

We’re pleased to offer a 10-year guarantee on all shutter blind products.

How can I get a price for new window shutters?

To make things easy, we price our shutters by the square metre. Simply enter the width and the height of your window on your chosen product page and you’ll get a rough price right away. Prices shown in the quote do not include delivery, but it does include VAT.

Can I pay someone to fit my shutters?

Our low shutter prices are possible because we carry fewer overheads than a company offering a measure and fit service. We supply the shutters pre-hinged, with all magnets and magnet plates in position. We even pre-drill the holes in the frames so they’re ready for a straightforward installation.
