3. Panels

How many panels would you like?

Remember to account for obstructions on either side of the window.

Consider how you would like them to look in both closed and open positions.

Which way would you like each panel to open?

Planning to open them frequently? More panels means they'll be narrower and take up less space.

Carefully consider the hinge positions for each panel.

4. Slats

Slat Size

When open, a larger slat would decrease the privacy your shutters offer.

The larger the slat the more light when open, but this can also decrease privacy. Consider clearance for handles and obstructions with larger slats.

5. Frame

Mount and frame type:

Front of recess wraps the corner of the window recess, in-recess sits further back. Non-recess attaches to the wall around the window.

Choose from Front of Recess, In Recess and Non-recess.

Large Frames

Allow 60mm clearance from the front edge of the frame to any obstacles which might prevent the slats opening.

Need a larger frame? This allows clearance from window handles and obstructions behind the shutters. Large Frames are subject to a £50 surcharge.
